King: International Decisions Against Israel Remain Ink on Paper

Al-Taj News – The King affirmed that resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict requires abandoning a number of “illusions,” foremost among them treating the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as two separate issues, stressing that, according to his view, they are part of a single strategy aimed at changing the reality on the ground and undermining the possibility of establishing a viable Palestinian state.

In an address delivered during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, His Majesty said that Palestinians are being killed on both fronts, while a new reality is being imposed through destruction in the Gaza Strip and the de facto annexation of land in the West Bank, considering the ultimate goal to be making the establishment of a viable Palestinian state impossible.

He noted that another of the illusions is the belief that the Israeli leadership’s rejection of the establishment of a Palestinian state is a position that can change, affirming that this rejection “will not change, but is being entrenched on the ground.”

He added that the current Israeli government has accelerated settlement construction and land confiscation, but these measures, according to him, are not new, as the map has undergone successive changes since the Oslo Accords through gradual settlement expansion.
